Jewish Museum - Ceremonial Art of the Jewish Community of Livorno Yeshivà Marini Via Micali 21
The Yeshivà Marini Jewish Museum is housed in the nineteenth-century oratory of a neoclassical building.
It was inaugurated in 1992 and offers documentation on the Nazi-fascist persecutions carried out after the enactment of the racial laws, flanked by an exhibition of sacred art objects from the Synagogue.
The ancient synagogue, severely damaged during the last world war and then completely rebuilt on the basis of the project by Angelo Di Castro, had furnishings of considerable value and was the symbol of the importance assumed by the numerous Jewish community of Livorno.
Much of the collection was destroyed during the war, but the museum still preserves, in addition to the sacred furnishings, silver and fabrics produced by Leghorn, French and Central European workers. Worthy of note is the valuable Hekhàl in carved wood, which escaped the bombing of the Synagogue; according to tradition, it was brought to Livorno by Jews from the Iberian Peninsula.
The collection of coral objects is also important, an activity, that of coral processing, to which many members of the Livorno Jewish community were dedicated. Hours: June-September: Sun 3 pm-5pm Amaranta service cooperative [email protected] tel. and fax (+39) 0586 839772 cell. (+39) 320 8887044

Cripta Pieve di San Jacopo
The church of San Jacopo in Acquaviva is located on the seafront of Livorno, next to the Naval Academy, and overlooks a square dedicated to the homonymous saint. The name "Acquaviva" is due to the presence, testified in various historical documents, of an ancient spring of fresh water that flowed near the hermitage and of which there is no longer any trace. where in December 1952, following a violent storm, the Grommet Reefer, an American refrigerator ship, broke into two parts. In its subsoil there is a small jewel: the crypt of the Pieve. The first documents attesting the existence of a "crypt", in its meaning of "church", whose altar had been obtained from the living rock, date back to around 1100 AD.
